Powered builds marketing sites for corporations like Sony and HP that feature professional learning and user generated learning content. We engaged with Design For Use because we were preparing to launch a new platform to move from our existing 1 to 1 to a social community model. We already had a client base with existing marketing programs. We wanted to insure that we could maintain the metrics and performance of those programs even though we were introducing a huge amount of change including new widgets, video and Flash. And we had a really aggressive timeline.
We worked with Design For Use to transfer knowledge as well as to design wireframes that became the foundation of the future client sites. Design For Use over delivered. They were a real collaborative partner. They had expertise to lend with design and development and they worked well as an extension of our program planning team. I would definitely recommend them to other colleagues taking on huge strategic projects that really require more in depth analysis. We were hugely pleased with the outcome.

GSD&M Idea City
Design For Use did a usability study for GSD&M's Idea City for an online smoking cessation project we're doing for a client. We wanted to make sure the site's architecture/ navigation worked with a particularly low tech savvy consumer.
Design For Use was great. They took a very balanced approach to our challenge. They looked at our existing architecture and identified areas that needed improvement and recommended ways to strengthen the overall user experience.
They organized and facilitated the usability research from start to finish - from finding the right participants to moderating the sessions and providing actionable recommendations. It was a wonderful experience.
